Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 26, 2026
Who Better? ("we", "us") provides a sports comparison and debate tool at whobettersports.com. This policy describes what data we collect, how it's stored, and the choices you have. We aim to collect as little as possible and never sell your data.
What we collect
We only collect data you explicitly create:
A nickname and emoji of your choosing, used to attribute posts.
The text of any debate posts or replies you submit, along with the comparison they relate to (which two players or teams, the stat scope, etc.).
A randomly-generated, anonymous device identifier (a UUID) that ties your posts together and lets you delete your own. This identifier never leaves your device except as a column on posts you author.
Approximate aggregate usage statistics if Cloudflare Web Analytics is enabled (page views, country-level geography, referrer). This is cookie-free and never identifies individual visitors.
We do not collect your name, email, phone, IP address (beyond what Cloudflare anonymously aggregates for analytics), or any advertising identifiers. We don't run advertising trackers.
How we store it
Posts and your profile are stored in two places, depending on whether the app is configured against a backend:
On your device, in browser local storage (web) or AsyncStorage (native). This always runs.
In a Supabase Postgres database when cross-device sync is enabled. Supabase, Inc. hosts the data on our behalf — see supabase.com/privacy.
All debate posts are public by design — anyone using the app can read every post in any comparison thread.
Third-party services
ESPN — we query their public statistics APIs to look up players, teams, and stats. We send only the search query or ID you choose; we never send your posts or profile data.
Cloudflare — hosts the site and, if enabled, provides privacy-friendly analytics.
Supabase — stores debate posts when cross-device sync is on.
Your choices
Delete your own posts via the trash icon next to each post. Deletions are permanent.
Clearing your browser's local storage for this site removes your profile and any locally-stored posts.
To request deletion of all posts associated with your device identifier (or any other data concern), email [email protected].
Children's privacy
Who Better? is not directed to children under 13. We don't knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe a child has submitted information, email us and we'll remove it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be flagged on the home page or via the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the service after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
